Forester Vacancy

Western Forestry Co-op is the longest established forestry co-op in Ireland, founded in 1985 to provide support services and advice to landowners afforesting and managing their forests. The Co-op ethos of transparency, trust and loyalty are our foundation and our trusted and professional service has seen our establishment, harvesting and forest management business increase year on year.


The successful candidate will be required to liaise with clients, manage contractors, complete paperwork and mapping, manage budgets and prepare reports.

Essential Skills

  • Graduate Qualification in Forestry
  • Full Clean Driving License
  • Highly motivated, ability to work on own initiative
  • Computer literate (email, word, excel)
  • Good oral and written communications skills (outgoing personality)
  • Attention to detail
  • Team Player

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of Forest Service forestry schemes (desirable but not essential)

The role will be based out of our Head Office in Sligo, covering the north west, flexible office working arrangements available.

Salary will be commensurate with experience. Equipment to fulfil role will be provided and full training will be provided as necessary.
